Tough and beautiful, Bougainvillea grows vigorously in our warm, sunny climate. You can train these ornamental vines up walls, trellises and across fences. You can sculpt them into topiaries, bonsai, and centrepieces for your garden.
They bloom most of the year and keep coming back for as long as you care for them. Many people don’t realise that their papery “flowers” are actually modified leaves called “bracts”.
These beauties need full sun and plenty of space to grow (up to 6 metres high and 12 metres across, depending on the variety). The more sun your bougainvillea receives, the better the bloom.
